Carson City AYSO offers two programs in the Spring: a Recreational Program and a Select Program.

SPRING RECREATIONAL PROGRAM

The Spring Recreational Program is similar to the regular fall season. It is subject to all of the rules and regulations that govern AYSO, including (but not limited to): each player being offered the opportunity to play in at least half of each match; positive coaching; good sportsmanship; and balanced teams. The program is available to players in the following age groups: U5/U6 boys, U5/U6 girls, U8 boys, and U8 girls.

Registration for the Spring Recreational Program typically starts in January or February. For more information about spring registration, please go to the Registration page.

Practices for the Spring Recreational Program generally start in March or April.  Games typically start in May and end by the second week in June.

SPRING SELECT PROGRAM (TOIYABE LEAGUE)

The Spring Select Program is available for players who were registered in the previous fall season in the following age groups: U10 boys, U10 girls, U12 boys, U12 girls, U15 boys, and U15 girls. Players who did not play in the fall may request a one-time waiver from the Section Director and appropriate Regional Commissioner.

The Spring Select Program is subject to all of the rules and regulations that govern AYSO, including (but not limited to) each player being offered the opportunity to play in at least half of each match; positive coaching; and good sportsmanship.  But unlike the balanced teams of the fall, Spring Select teams are "coach-select" teams; coaches are free to ask players to play on their team. Players are free to accept or decline, as they wish.

All players who want to participate in the Spring Select Program are required to try out even if they played last Spring. Spring tryouts typically are held the weekend following the Area 2F Kit Carson All-Star Shootout in November. Tryouts for the next Spring Select Program will be on November 12, 2011, at the Edmonds Sports Complex.  Boys need to check in at 9:00 a.m at the referee shack; tryouts will be from 9:30 to 11:00 a.m. Girls need to check-in at 10:00 a.m.; tryouts will be from 10:30 to noon.

Any coaches who want to coach a Spring Select team must obtain the permission of their Regional Commissioner.  Coaches must be certified at or above the division they are coaching and have completed Safe Haven training. Coaches must attend the tryouts on November 12, 2011, at the Edmonds Sports Complex.  Coaches for boys' divisions must report to the referee shack at 8:30 a.m.; coaches for the girls' divisions must report to the referre shack at 9:30 a.m.

Spring teams play in the Toiyabe League. The Toiyabe League is run by the Area 2F staff but is dependent on volunteers for coaches, referees, team parents, and division coordinators. Toiyabe teams are sponsored (or sanctioned) by their home AYSO region.

Spring teams may also play in Tournaments. Some tournaments may require travel and registration fees beyond those required by their home AYSO region.
